WORK WITH ME / FRACTIONAL CMO

I run marketing for B2B SaaS companies and I build the systems myself, so the person who sets your strategy is the person who ships it.

Fractional CMO for European B2B SaaS, one or two days a week. Fifteen years across Asia, Australia and Europe, two agencies founded and run, and the receipts on this page: 21 custom HubSpot modules and 30 templates across four brands plus a partner programme, event lead capture, customer portals, AI agent systems built standards-first. Every engagement starts with a EUR 1,500 Scoping Sprint, credited in full if we work together.

Every engagement starts with a Scoping Sprint. No exceptions.

No free discovery calls. No proposals written on guesswork. Here is why.

You do not know me yet, and I do not know your business yet. The Sprint fixes both inside two weeks. You pay EUR 1,500, we do a short written intake and one 90-minute working session, I take a proper look at your funnel, your stack and your team, and you get the Sprint Brief: the problem as I actually see it, the engagement I would recommend, a 90-day timeline, and a fixed quote. Not a band, not “from”. The brief is yours whatever you decide.

If the honest answer is that you should not hire me, the brief says so and tells you what to do instead.

THE CREDIT MECHANIC

Sign any engagement within 90 days of the brief and the full EUR 1,500 comes off your first invoice. If we work together, the Sprint cost you nothing. The only person who pays net is the one I told not to hire me, and that person got the cheapest good advice they will receive all year.

The Sprint in full, what you get and what I need from you

Five offers. Published prices. One way in.

Everything below is recommended by a Sprint Brief, not pitched cold. The prices are the prices; I discount scope, never price.

THE GATE

The Scoping Sprint

EUR 1,500 fixed

The universal first step. One working session, my independent review, and a written brief with a fixed quote you keep regardless. Credited in full against any engagement signed within 90 days.

Start with the Sprint

TIER 1

Fractional CMO retainer

1 day a week: EUR 4,800 a month (4 delivered days, EUR 1,200 a day)

2 days a week: EUR 9,200 a month (8 delivered days, EUR 1,150 a day)

A senior marketing layer over the team you already have. Strategy, team leadership, board reporting, and hands-on systems work in the same person. Full-stack by definition; I do not sell strategy-only, because advice without shipping is the thing AI commoditises first.

The build allowance is the headline, not the small print: the retainer includes hands-on build work, 1 build day a month on the 1-day configuration, 2 on the 2-day configuration. HubSpot configuration, template and module work, automation wiring, dashboards and reporting. Anything bigger is quoted from the systems catalogue, so you always know which side of the line a piece of work sits on. The allowance does not roll over month to month.

3 to 6 month minimum, then month to month. Monthly in advance, net 14. 30-day notice.

The 2-day configuration takes my whole working week. One such client at a time, maximum.

TIER 2

Strategic engagements

EUR 12,000 to 30,000 fixed scope, 4 to 12 weeks

A defined problem with an end date. Positioning, demand generation, a pipeline plan the board can hold you to. Every engagement ships at least one working artefact alongside the strategy: a configured scoring model, a built template, a wired dashboard, a documented standard. That is contractual. I could not deck-and-disappear if I wanted to.

TIER 3

Systems builds

Working systems in your own accounts, owned outright. A vendor licence is five figures every year. A build is once, then it is yours.

PackageFixed band
Event lead-capture kit. Badge scan, OCR, live HubSpot syncEUR 18,000 to 24,000
Portal starter. Partner or customer portal skeleton: auth, content, HubSpot and payment hooksEUR 28,000 to 38,000
Module library. Multi-brand HubSpot module set, theme tokens, documentationEUR 15,000 to 21,000
Bespoke builds. Quoted only after a Scoping SprintEUR 40,000 to 75,000

TIER 4

Standards-First AI

Agents trained on your standards, not on nothing.

Standards pack EUR 9,500

Full programme EUR 34,000 to 42,000

Your marketing standards written down and made explicit, then AI agents built on those documents, then governance and handover so your team runs it without me. You keep everything at every stage. No documented standards, no agents; that is a rule, not a preference.

How the money works

  • I discount scope, never price. If the budget is short, the scope shrinks.
  • Fixed-scope work: 50/25/25 milestones, deposit on signing starts the clock. Retainers: monthly in advance, net 14. Sprint: paid up front.
  • Prices reviewed each January. Rates you sign are honoured for 12 months, full stop.
  • All figures ex VAT. 21 per cent NL, reverse charge EU B2B, outside scope non-EU. Dutch law.

No testimonials. Artefacts instead.

I would rather show you work you can inspect than words you cannot verify. Everything below is mine outright, built on my own stack, on my own time, or shipped in roles I held.

  • This site.

Built on my own module patterns, written standards and brand system, in public. The page you are reading is the first exhibit. View source if you like.

  • The module system.

21 custom HubSpot modules and 30 templates, running email and web for four brands plus a partner programme. Real code, my own architecture diagrams, and the documentation that kept five web properties consistent.

  • Event lead capture.

I built the ISE Barcelona lead capture app. Badge scan, OCR, live HubSpot sync. It cost the company nothing in vendor fees. Described here through my own diagrams and words; the capability is the catalogue’s event kit, rebuilt on my own stack.

  • Standards-first AI, in the open.

The sample standards pack is published on this site, alongside the method it anchors: standards captured in writing first, agents built on those documents, a named human signing off. You can read what documented standards actually look like before anyone asks you to pay for them.

  • The readiness check.

My lead magnet is a working tool I built and shipped on this site, because a PDF about building would have been a joke. Use it; that is the point.

I keep client and employer names off the page as a matter of stated policy. I share them in conversation, and references are available on the call.

One person, two engagement shapes

I am one person with two engagement shapes: fractional engagements like these, and from time to time a full-time seat. I will not pretend the second shape does not exist. What I can do is make continuity a contractual fact rather than a hope. Existing commitments are honoured and transitioned, never dropped: fixed-scope work always completes as contracted, retainers carry a defined wind-down with a written handover of systems, access and standards, and everything I build runs in your accounts, not mine. Most consultants ask you to trust them on this. My contract does not ask; it states. The detail is in the FAQ below.

The questions you are actually asking

Why not a full-time hire?

If you need a full-time CMO and can afford one, hire one. I will tell you so on the Sprint Brief, in writing. Most founders I work with do not need five days a week of marketing leadership. They need one or two good ones: a senior layer over the team they already have, and systems that keep working between my days. You pay for the days you need, not for a seat. And if the answer changes later, everything I build and document is the onboarding pack for your full-time hire.

Why not an agency?

An agency puts an account manager between you and the people doing the work. I am the people doing the work. The person in your board meeting is the person in your HubSpot portal, so nothing gets lost in translation and you are not paying a margin on every hour. There is also a structural difference: my engagements are contractually required to ship at least one working artefact. I could not deck-and-disappear if I wanted to. The contract forbids it.

What if you take a full-time role?

It could happen, and I will not pretend otherwise. I am one person with two engagement shapes, and the contract is built for exactly that. Fixed-scope work, Sprints, projects and builds, always completes as contracted; it has a defined end. If I take a full-time seat during a retainer, you get notice per the contract, a served or mutually shortened transition, and a written handover of systems, access and standards. Everything I build runs in your accounts, not mine, so nothing walks out of the door with me. You are exposed to a notice period, not to a person.

How do I know the building claim is real?

Look at the work. This site runs on my own module patterns and written standards, built in public. The portfolio shows real code, my own architecture diagrams, and working demonstrations you can click: 21 custom HubSpot modules and 30 templates across four brands plus a partner programme is a claim you can inspect, not take on trust. The Sprint Brief itself is the next proof; you will see exactly how I think before a single euro goes to anything bigger. I keep client and employer names off the page as a matter of stated policy, but I share them in conversation, and references are available on the call.

Who should not hire you?

Plenty of people. If you are pre-product-market-fit and still discovering your voice and your customer, you need a full-time first marketer, not a fractional layer; hire one. If you are an enterprise with an established marketing department, you need an agency or a headcount, and your procurement process and I would make each other miserable. If you are an agency looking for white-label build capacity, no. If you want advice without shipping, also no: strategy without execution is decoration, and I do not sell decoration. And if you want AI agents but have no documented standards and no real content cadence, I will tell you not to buy them. Including from me.

How do I know if we are ready for AI?

Take the readiness check. Twelve questions, five minutes, scored against my published method, and one of the possible results is “do not buy agents yet, including from me”. That result is real; below a real publishing cadence the check says so plainly and recommends documenting your standards for your next hire instead.

Do you discount?

Never on price, only on scope. If the budget is short, the scope shrinks: fewer content types, a smaller module set, a single brand, a shorter engagement. No seasonal promotions, no negotiation bands. The one concession that is not a discount: payment scheduling inside an engagement, never the total.
