Ten questions in a row at the child's level; every right answer knocks a block off the tower. With a friend on the same tablet it is twelve, six each, taking turns. No clock, no rank, no one watching but the tower. Ameera Surekha, who built Explorisle at home for one child · 26 September 2026 ## How a bout works Walk to the Tower, on the first island. The game asks: just me, or with a friend on this tablet? Then it asks ten questions from the child's own level: doubles and bonds in Reception and Year 1, the 2, 5 and 10 tables in Year 2, all the tables to 12 by Year 4, then missing numbers, squares and factors. Every right answer knocks a block off. A wrong answer shows the answer and a way to see it, then the run carries on. Finish the run and the trophy goes on the child's plot. ## Why ten in a row and not a timer A countdown makes some children faster and some children stop. Ten in a row asks the same thing of everyone: keep going. The island still notices speed, quietly, for the parent view: a fact counts as quick when the middle of the last three answers was fast, and the game asks the slow and wrong ones more often, then again next week. ## For two Pick a friend's name on the same tablet and the bout is twelve questions, six each, taking turns. Each child answers at their own level, so a Year 2 and a Year 5 can play the same bout. The score is two numbers on the screen and nothing more; it is not saved, not ranked, not shown to anyone else. ## Where it fits in five minutes a day Most of the island is wandering: mine a rock, cut a tree, hatch an egg, cross a bridge. The Tower is for the day a child wants a run. Once or twice a week is plenty. At about five minutes the island asks if it is a good spot to stop, and the child decides. ## What a parent sees afterwards Tap **For parents** on the first screen. It shows what the child is working on this week, the weakest five facts, and the one sum to ask at dinner. Nothing leaves the device but a seven-character player tag and the answers under it; no name, no email, no adverts.
