Six short films, one task each
Each film is the real game, a task at a time, in the island's own voice. The steps are written under each one, so you can follow along or print the page. Every class, seat, tag and name in the films is an example.

Make a class
- Open Explorisle and tap For teachers.
- Find Make a class. Type a name for it, such as 5B, and tap Make a class.
- You get a class code and a teacher key. The key stays on this device, so write it down. You need it to open the class anywhere else.
- Give the children the class code, and a seat number each. That is all they need.
Give out seats
- Give each child a seat number on paper. The seat is how you know who is who. The game never stores their names.
- On the first screen, the child finds the box for the class code.
- They type the class code and their seat number, then tap Join.
- They pick a hero, and they are in. Their seat shows in your class table.
Set your unit
- Open your class and tap Unit.
- Pick the island for your unit. Then add your title, your central idea and the dates.
- Tick the maths your unit teaches. Half the questions on the maths island will follow it.
- For each line of inquiry, add I can statements, one per line. Add questions too: the question, then two to four choices, split by a line.
- Tap Save the unit. The children get it the next time they open the island.
Read the class table
- Tap Class to see everyone at once.
- Each row is a seat: the level, how many facts are quick, slow, or not right yet, how often they played, and the facts they find hardest.
- You can type a name next to a seat. Names stay on this device only.
- Print, then The class table, gives you a copy on paper.
Give back a lost tag
- A child has lost their tag. Open your class. The Tag column shows it for every seat.
- On the child's device, they tap I have a tag on the first screen.
- They type the tag and tap Find my island.
- Then their name, and Pick a hero. Their island is back, just as they left it.
Spelling groups
- Tap Spelling. The list at the top is for the whole class.
- Below it, make up to five groups. Give each a name and a list: a phonics phase, a year list, or your own words.
- Then put each seat in a group. A seat with no group takes the class list.
- Tap Save the groups. Each child gets their own list at the spelling desk.
On the island
